The short version
BetaList fits a startup before or just after launch that wants early adopters, if its editors accept it. outclimbed takes any product with no review, and the listing does not scroll away after a day.
The platform
What BetaList is
BetaList is a place for early adopters to discover new internet startups - pre-launch, in beta or already live. It says it gets more than 500,000 pageviews a month and has more than 70,000 newsletter subscribers.
Every submission is reviewed by hand, and accepted startups are featured at around twenty a day. Being featured is a one-time event: the startup is on BetaList for its day and then moves down the list. A trending section picks up popular recent startups, and the newsletter includes the most popular ones, guaranteed only on the faster plans.
There is no voting board and you do not choose your day; the plan decides how soon it comes. BetaList needs the startup on its own domain, makes no exceptions to its criteria and gives no feedback on rejections.
What it costs
BetaList pricing
All submissions are paid: BetaList ended free submissions, and refunds the payment in full if a startup is not selected. Plan prices are shown only at the end of its submission form, so they are not listed here.

The reasons
Why founders look for a BetaList alternative
- It is an editor's decision. A startup can be turned down, and BetaList gives no feedback on rejections.
- There is no free submission any more.
- The feature is one day, then the startup moves down the list.
- Each startup is generally featured once, and a URL featured in the last 12 months is refused.
- You cannot pick the day, only how soon it comes.
- It is built for early-stage startups. A mature product is not what its readers came for.

The honest answer
Which one to choose
Choose BetaList if
- Your startup is pre-launch or in beta and you want early adopters.
- You want a waiting list to grow before you launch.
- You are happy to be reviewed, and to be featured once.
- BetaList's newsletter readers are the people you want.
Choose outclimbed if
- You do not want to wait for an editor's decision.
- Your product is live and you want it to stay findable, not scroll away.
- You want to know your rank and what it cost, not hope to trend.
- You want to start free and pay only to keep the place.
Or use both. BetaList is for being discovered early; outclimbed is for staying visible later. Use BetaList while the startup is in beta, and list on outclimbed once it is live, so the product keeps a place after its feature day has scrolled away.

How a place on outclimbed works
List a website or an X profile: free for a month, or from $10 to stay for good.
A paid entry starts with 10 points, and every dollar above the minimum is one more. Bought points never expire, and the price of every rank is public.
Every listing gets a share link. Each new person it brings to the wall is worth a point for 30 days, so rank can be earned as well as bought.
Keeping the outclimbed badge on your site adds 30 points for as long as it stays.
The rules have every number, pricing shows what each rank costs today, and the FAQ answers the rest.
Asked often
BetaList alternative questions
- Is BetaList free?
- No. BetaList ended free submissions: every submission is paid, by plan, and the payment is refunded in full if the startup is not selected. Plan prices are shown at the end of its submission form.
- How long is a startup featured on BetaList?
- One day. BetaList features around twenty startups a day, and each is on BetaList for its day before moving down the list. The plan decides how soon that day comes - about 14, 3 or 1 days - not how long it lasts.
- What is a good BetaList alternative for a product that is already live?
- A directory or leaderboard that keeps the listing up, like outclimbed: no review, no feature day, and a place from $10 paid once, or free for a month. BetaList is built around early-stage startups; a live product mostly needs to stay findable.
- Can I be featured on BetaList twice?
- Generally not. BetaList features each startup once, with an exception for one featured before launch that is now launching, and refuses a URL featured in the last 12 months.
- Does BetaList give a dofollow link?
- BetaList says it does, but on the listing pages we checked on 3 November 2026 the link to the startup went through a BetaList redirect and was marked nofollow.
