The short version
Uneed is a good launch board with a real free lane, if you can wait for the date and gather the votes it asks for. outclimbed asks for neither: a paid place is up the moment it clears, and nothing is decided by one day's votes.
The platform
What Uneed is
Uneed calls itself a social launchpad for tech products. It says it has 125,000 monthly visitors and 26,000 newsletter subscribers, mostly founders, indie hackers and people who like new tools.
Every day at midnight Pacific a new batch goes live: at least 30 free launches from the waiting line, and every paid launch. The community votes them into Product of the Day, Week, Month and Year; the top three of the day get badges and the best go into the weekly newsletter. Votes are weighted by voting streaks and by the Pro plan.
Free launches are moderated and can be declined; paid launches are never declined. The product page stays on the site after its day, as long as the launch keeps the vote score its plan needs.
What it costs
Uneed pricing
The free lane gives a date Uneed assigns, at the back of the line and at least 30 days out - on 3 November 2026 the next free date was 38 days away. Paid launches bring the date forward, and they decide whether the link is dofollow.

The reasons
Why founders look for a Uneed alternative
- The free date is at least a month away, and Uneed sets it.
- A free launch needs votes to keep its page: below a score of 10 it goes back to your dashboard and cannot rejoin the free line.
- The dofollow link depends on the launch: a score of 20 on a free launch, 10 on Fast-track, or a paid Skip the line.
- Free accounts can have one scheduled launch at a time, and each product can use the free line once.
- It is one day on the board. The product keeps its page, but the attention moves on to tomorrow's batch.

The honest answer
Which one to choose
Choose Uneed if
- You want a launch day with a leaderboard and badges, at a low price.
- You can wait a month, or pay to pick your day.
- You can bring enough people to vote on the day.
- Founders and indie hackers are the audience you want.
Choose outclimbed if
- You want to be listed now, not on a date somebody else sets.
- You do not want one day's votes to decide whether your page stays.
- You want rank you can keep building: points bought or earned over weeks.
- You want a place that stays visible after launch week, not a page in the archive.
Or use both. Uneed gives a launch day; outclimbed gives a place that stays. While you wait for your Uneed date, a listing on outclimbed is already up, and its share link turns the attention around your launch into points that keep the product on the wall afterwards.

How a place on outclimbed works
List a website or an X profile: free for a month, or from $10 to stay for good.
A paid entry starts with 10 points, and every dollar above the minimum is one more. Bought points never expire, and the price of every rank is public.
Every listing gets a share link. Each new person it brings to the wall is worth a point for 30 days, so rank can be earned as well as bought.
Keeping the outclimbed badge on your site adds 30 points for as long as it stays.
The rules have every number, pricing shows what each rank costs today, and the FAQ answers the rest.
